Beauty Favorites | August 2021 | Beauty & Skin Care

Everyone has beauty favorites, right? I mostly use green beauty products because I have very sensitive skin, but once in a while I use not-so-green beauty products too.

Without further ado, here are my favorites for the month of August (2021), divided into skin care and beauty:

*This post is not sponsored, nor have I been sent any products for review.

Skin Care:

Earth Harbor Naturals Marina Biome Brightening Ampoule - $38

I like this light facial oil because it is a good option for the summer and during the day under makeup. It moisturizes well and is a good option for my dry and sensitive skin. It absorbs well with a toner and makes your skin incredibly soft.

Shamanuti Pumpkin Enzyme Mask - $42

I like this mask because it brightens the skin, gently exfoliates my dry skin, doesn't irritate my skin and it smells like pumpkin pie. It comes in a plastic bottle with a pump top that closes, making it very easy to use. I don't use a lot of the product for my entire face, so it will last a while.

OSEA Ocean Cleansing Mudd - $48

I like this cleanser because it cleans all the makeup off of my skin without stripping it. I was surprised because it is marketed for oily skin, but I don't find that it makes my dry skin drier or irritated. I also like it because I used to have to use a toner/makeup remover before cleansing to get all the makeup off of my skin, but I don't have to with this cleanser. I don't have to use a lot either, so it will last a while.

Hair Care:

Rahua Voluminous Shampoo - $34

I have an extremely sensitive scalp, so I tend to have a reaction to most shampoos. I like this shampoo because not only do I not have a reaction, it is volumizing, it keeps my hair clean longer and it smells really good. It doesn't leave a residue and leaves your hair feeling clean when it is rinsed out.

Josh Rosebrook Enrich Hair Mask - $40

I use this hair mask once a week and find that it tames my frizzy ends and keeps my hair from getting tangled all week. I used it twice a week before and it just made my scalp too oily, so I think this is best used sparingly. It is a thick mask, so I don't have to use much (maybe a quarter sized amount for my medium to long hair) and I've only used about a quarter of it in two months.

Beauty:

Illamasqua Unveiled Artistry Palette - $50

This is a nude eyeshadow palette that has 12 shades, which are matte, shimmer and satin finishes. I used the Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later eye primer and found that these eyeshadows blended well and were extremely easy to work with. They were easy to build and did not blend away into nothing. I found that the eyeshadows lasted all day and did not crease or transfer. The colors remained vibrant all day, so I was very impressed with this product.

K. Voss Heye Lighter Palette - $36

This is a highlighter/eyeshadow palette with three shades. I find that as a highlighter, it provides a very pretty luminous glow, lasts all day and does not irritate my sensitive skin. The only other highlighter palette that has lasted as long on my skin is the Anastasia Sugar Glow Kit ($40), which has similar shades.

Final Thoughts:
